Revolution

Considered the leader of a new generation of Zouglou, Révolution was formed in 2008 in Abidjan, around Prométhée, Isso, Saï Saï and Zokora. The group has breathed new life into Zouglou, taking a less anti-establishment stance than its predecessors, given the changed context. What's more, the group makes no secret of its desire to offer lighter lyrics, to tell stories and to find Zouglou in joyful events. Purists notwithstanding, the group has chosen to appeal to young people and is keen to expand internationally. A debut album, Réveil, was released in 2010, and the group won the revelation award at the Oscars du Zouglou in 2012. The EP, Preuve Par 3 (2013), featuring tracks such as "Chagrin d'Amour " and "Problème de réseaux ", set the band on the road to success. Spotted by the duo Les Patrons, a Zouglou band born in the early 2000s, Révolution was invited to open for them. This was followed by a second album, Overdose , in 2015, which won them the Oscar for Best Group at the Ivorian Music Oscars in 2016. The group signed to Sony Music Africa and followed up with the singles "Mikina" and "Je bois plus" (2016). In 2018, Energy is released, featuring a number of collaborations. With Dj Leo on the track "C'est pas ma faute", and Magic System on "Kelly". Present at the biggest African festivals, the group releases Boite Automatique in 2022, and has to reissue the record in the first week on the market. The single Dosez, with Elow'n and Didi B., passes the million-view mark. In 2023, Révolution celebrates its fifteenth anniversary with a major tour.
