Renee Spearman was born on March 3, 1969, in Lynwood, California, and is an American gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and choir leader. The daughter of a pastor, she grew up singing in church and later began recording in the 1990s, leading the Prosperity Crusade Choir on Change the World in 1995 and From a Songwriterâs Perspective later that decade. She also worked as a session and backing vocalist, including credits connected to Gladys Knightâs At Last and Yolanda Adamsâ The Experience. In the early 2000s, Renee Spearman formed a musical partnership with Prez Blackmon II, releasing Celebrate in 2002 as Renee Spearman and Prez featuring Prosperity. The duo returned in 2008 with He Changed Me, released on JDI Records, and earned a Stellar Award nomination in 2010 for Music Video of the Year. Renee Spearman moved forward as a solo artist with Whoa to Wow! in 2012, whose title track featured D.J. Rogers, then appeared on Bobby Jonesâ Rejoice with Me! in 2014. She released âGood Morning! (You Made It)â in 2017 and followed with âI Love Him,â featuring Hezekiah Walker and Dr. Holly Carter, before issuing the album I Love Him in 2020. In 2021, she released âI Got God,â and in 2023 she reunited with Kim Burrell on âTap Into It (The Source),â which reached Number 1 on Billboardâs Gospel Airplay chart in 2024. Renee Spearman continued in 2026 with âYou Chose Me,â featuring Montell Jordan and Kim Burrell.
