Argentine artist Julián Reininger, known as Rei, was born on August 30, 1997, in Morón, Buenos Aires Province. He began releasing music as J Rei in 2018 but rose to prominence in 2020 with the viral hit “Pininfarina,” later remixed with Duki and Neo Pistea, marking his breakthrough in the Latin trap scene. Rei followed up with tracks like “Modo deportivo,” “Mente gitana,” and “West Side” with Ecko, leading to his 2021 debut album Reicing, which mixed trap and RKT and featured artists such as Maikel Delacalle and La Champions Liga. In 2022, he leaned further into RKT with “Dale dale” alongside Kaleb Di Masi and scored his biggest hit yet with “Tu turrito” featuring Callejero Fino, followed by “Fernet” with Spanish rapper Quevedo. He later opened for Bad Bunny’s concerts in Argentina. In 2023, Rei released his second album 4X4, blending trap, RKT, and funk carioca, while in 2024, his third album C.D.M (Chanteo de Morón) dropped with guest appearances from Duki, Milo J, and Obie Wanshot.
