Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, an English gothic rock band, was formed in Leeds in 1981 by Chris Reed and Mark Sweeney. The group initially featured Steve Smith on bass and Mick Brown on drums. After securing a local support slot for The Jam in April 1982, the band released their debut single "Beating My Head" through Red Rhino Records. Their debut album Talk About The Weather was released in 1985, reaching Number three on the NME Indie Rock Album Charts. Subsequent albums included Paint Your Wagon (1986) and Blow (1989), with notable singles like "Chance" and "Spinning Round". Despite commercial challenges, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry continued to release music through various labels, including Beggars Banquet Records. The band underwent several lineup changes and hiatuses, notably in 1990 when Chris Reed temporarily disbanded the group.
