Ran Mizutani, known professionally as Ran Ito, was born on 13 January 1955 in KichijÅji, Musashino, Tokyo, and began her career as a singer. Ran Ito entered the music scene as a member of the 1970s idol group Candies, where she performed the lead vocals on many of the trioâs hits, gaining early exposure and industry experience. After Candies disbanded, she pursued a solo career, releasing her debut single "Koisuru Revolver" on 9 December 2020, which introduced her contemporary pop style to a new generation of listeners. In a steady progression of releases, Ran Ito issued the studio albums My Bouquet on 29 May 2019, Beside You on 1 September 2021, LEVEL 9.9 on 19 July 2023, and "Kaze Ni Notte: Over the Moon" on 21 August 2024, each contributing to her presence on the Japanese charts. Ran Itoâs concert tour My Bouquet & My Dear Candies! began on 15 February 2020, featuring a mix of her solo work and classic Candies tracks. Throughout her career, Ran Ito has maintained a consistent output under Sony Music Direct, achieving modest chart positions and earning recognition for her contributions to Japanese pop music. Her fourth original album, Bright on, was released on April 1, 2026.
