Ramatam was a 1970s rock band featuring Mike Pinera on guitar and vocals, April Lawton on lead guitar, and Mitch Mitchell on drums. The band's debut album, Ramatam, produced by Tom Dowd, was released in 1972. Notable for including Lawton as a female lead guitarist, Ramatam performed at Concert 10 in Long Pond, PA with acts such as Emerson Lake & Palmer and Edgar Winter. Before recording their second and final album, In April Came the Dawning of the Red Suns (1973), Mitchell and Pinera departed from the band. The final lineup included drummer Jimmy Walker, Lawton, and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Sullivan. Ramatam disbanded in 1974 due to internal pressures over business and musical direction.
