Rainych

Rainych is an Indonesian singer and video streamer best known for her covers of J-pop, city pop, anime, and vocaloid songs. Born Rainych Ran on October 20, 1992, in West Sumatra, Indonesia, she began singing in elementary school and later developed an interest in Japanese manga and anime series. Even though she created her own streaming channel in 2015, it wasn't until 2019 that she began to gain serious online traction thanks to her cover versions of Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon" and LiSA's "Gurenge," both of which accumulated millions of views. Later that year, Rainych unveiled her first commercial single "Time-Lapse," released via the indie label Sprite:Wall. In 2020, she caught the attention of American singer Doja Cat after producing a Japanese cover version of her song "Say So," whose remix by Tofubeats peaked at Number 17 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart. She followed this success with a cover of Miki Matsubara's 1979 single "Mayonaka no Door," which enjoyed a great deal of popularity in Indonesia, as well as a rendition of Momoko Kikuchi's "Blind Curve" that received praise from Kikuchi herself. Both songs were included in Rainych's major-label debut EP for Sony Music Japan, Mayonaka no Door - Stay With Me - / BLIND CURVE (2021). A second EP titled RIDE ON TIME / Say So -Japanese Version- (tofubeats Remix) appeared a few months later, followed by the original non-album single "Nyanpasu."
