Ragga Oktay

Oktay Yurtalan, known professionally as Ragga Oktay, was born on 15 April 1976 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and is a Turkish singer, rapper, actor, and composer. Growing up in Rotterdam’s Spangen district, he was exposed to a mix of cultures that shaped his musical sensibilities; he began recording at the age of twelve and earned the nickname “Ragga” for his rapid, melodic delivery. His breakthrough came in 1997 when he signed with Ozan Video and released the debut album Aman O…; the single "Şinanay" attracted attention in Turkey. In 1998 he followed with Her Şeye Rağmen, featuring the hit "Çikolata Kız", which sold 800 000 copies and established him as a chart‑topper. The 2000 release Sonsuza Kadar continued his commercial success, and he embarked on extensive tours across Europe. Subsequent music includes albums like Selâmünaleyküm (2005), Normal mi? (2012), and singles like "Yeniden" (2015).
