Rafa Pérez

Rafa Pérez, born Rafael Pérez Tortello on September 22, 1984, in Chiriguaná, Cesar, Colombia, is a prominent vallenato singer who began his musical journey in the early 2000s. He initially gained recognition as a member of the group Vallenato Joven and later joined Los Chiches del Vallenato, touring extensively across Colombia and internationally. In 2004, he became part of Los Diablitos de Colombia, further solidifying his presence in the vallenato scene. By 2007, Rafa Pérez co-founded the successful group Kvrass, with whom he released four albums over eight years. Embarking on a solo career, he debuted with Las Mieles del Triunfo in 2017, followed by 2018's Rafa Pérez Canta Vallenato and 2019's Real in subsequent years. His 2020 live album + Real (En Vivo) showcased his dynamic performance style. In 2022, he released El Vallenato Vive, a 15-track album featuring compositions by renowned songwriters like Omar Geles and Wilfran Castillo. The album includes standout tracks such as "Mi Persona Favorita" and "La Cajeta." Continuing his tribute to vallenato's rich heritage, Rafa Pérez unveiled Canta Vallenato Homenaje a los Compositores, Vol. 3 in 2024, collaborating with Iván Ovalle, Jorge Valbuena, and Juank Padilla on tracks like "Si No Me Falla el Corazón."
