Psykup is a French avant-garde metal band from Toulouse. Formed in 1995 by Matthieu Miegeville (vocals, tritone), Julien Cassarino (vocals, guitar), Yannick Tournier (guitar), Mélanie Torok (bass) and Brice Sansonetto (drums), they describe their style as "ostrich core", fusing elements of rock, funk, bossa nova and experimental metal. After a debut EP entitled Sors la Tête in 2000, the album Le Temps de la Réflexion was released in 2002 on the Slalom label, followed two years later by the EP Acoustiques & Remixes and in 2005 by L'Ombre et la Proie. Released in 2008, We Love You All is a double album accompanied by a live DVD. This opus marks a turning point, with a predominance of English lyrics. In 2009, singer Matthieu Miegeville left the band after fourteen years, returning in 2014 with bassist Julian Gretz for a tour followed by the album Ctrl+Alt+Fuck (2017), financed by a crowdfunding campaign. In 2021, the band released Hello Karma! with new singer Matthieu Romarin. Now without Miegeville, Psykup continues with guitarist Dorian Dutech for the album The Joke of Tomorrow (2025).
