Prima Queen

Prima Queen are a UK-based indie rock duo known for their emotionally charged songwriting, rich harmonies, and guitar-driven sound that blends vulnerability with confidence. Fronted by Louise Macphail (from Bristol, UK) and Kristen McFadden (from Chicago, USA), the band bring together transatlantic influences, creating a distinctive style that marries British indie sensibilities with Americana-tinged storytelling. Formed in London in 2016, Prima Queen first caught attention with their raw, intimate lyricism and compelling live performances, quickly gaining support from tastemakers like BBC Radio 6 Music and DIY Magazine. Their breakout single Chew My Cheeks, produced by The Big Moon, showcased their knack for blending introspective themes—grief, relationships, and personal growth—with catchy, melancholic melodies and dynamic instrumentation. In 2019, the band released their debut single "Milk Teeth," with their debut EP Not The Baby, following in 2023; a poignant collection of tracks exploring themes of womanhood, friendship, and self-discovery. Their sound draws comparisons to artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Wolf Alice, and Courtney Barnett, balancing delicate vocals with grunge-tinged guitar work and cinematic arrangements. Prima Queen have supported acts such as The Big Moon and Wet Leg, steadily building a reputation as one of the most promising voices in the UK’s alt-rock and indie scene. With their powerful lyricism, heartfelt delivery, and magnetic chemistry, Prima Queen are carving out a space uniquely their own—introspective, bold, and beautifully sincere. In 2025, they marked their indie-rock territory with the release of debut album The Prize, produced by Steph Marziano (Let's Eat Grandma, Hayley Williams).
