P.O.S is the stage name of American hip hop artist and singer Stefon Leron Alexander, born on August 18, 1981, in Minneapolis. He performed in the punk-rock ensembles Degenerates and Om before establishing the hip hop collective Doomtree in 2001. Alexander released his debut solo studio recording, Ipecac Neat, in 2004. His discography included the albums Audition (2006) and Never Better (2009), which reached number 106 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, he released We Don't Even Live Here, peaking at number 47 on the same chart. He released the studio album Chill, Dummy in 2017. Alexander was a member of groups including Gayngs, Four Fists, and Shredders. He received stars on the First Avenue mural for his solo work and contributions to Doomtree. In 2014, he underwent a kidney transplant. Following allegations of emotional abuse in June 2020, Alexander announced he was stepping away from music.
