pontsuku piya

PONTSUKUPIYA is a Japanese three-piece rock band originally formed in April 2015 as a five-member group named Pontsuku-Piiya at the Maizuru National College of Technology's light music club. After some early lineup changes, the band became a trio in 2017, unveiling their first original song “Future Loser.” They disbanded in March 2020 following a final online graduation performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In early 2022, members Oishi and Nakae discussed reviving the band and successfully brought bassist Yoshimoto back, officially reuniting as PONTSUKUPIYA. In January 2023, they released their debut single "19 Years Old/shit Bias Music", which gained attention on social media and surpassed one million total plays. Their 2024 independent live series “Hyper Cutie Ultra Rock Vol.2” sold out quickly in Kyoto and Tokyo, followed by their first solo show in Osaka’s Live House Pangea, also sold out. In August 2024, they released their first full-length album Ore no naka no sensou nante daremo kyoumi nai through Tower Records’ exclusive Tawareco initiative, topping charts at all participating stores. The band then embarked on their first Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka tour. On February 2025, they held their first Tokyo solo show, See You Tomorrow! at Daisy Bar in Shimokitazawa. In April 2025, they released their first nationwide EP, Bokugamachigaetahibinosubete.
