Among Canadian Richie Hawtin's many pseudonyms, Plastikman is the best known. While under his own name he has mostly signed DJ mixes, it is as Plastikman that he has developed his distinctive minimalist electro sound. Born with Sheet One in 1993, Plastikman reached his apotheosis with Musik in 1994. His next albums were Consume (1998) and Closer (2003). Ex: Performed Live at the Guggenheim NYC in 2014 only deepens the mystery surrounding this elusive alias.
