PinkPantheress

Shrouded in mystery, PinkPantheress is a house, disco, and neo-soul artist from London, England. Born in Bath in 2001 to a Kenyan mother she began writing songs with a friend during her late adolescence, inspired by female artists like Lily Allen and Imogen Heap. After creating collages based on old samples of nu-jungle, pop, and funk, it didn’t take long before her music went viral with her 2021 single “Just a Waste,” which sampled Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall,” used in countless videos on social media platforms. This led to a record deal with Parlophone Records, who released her next single, the frantic drum’n’bass reverie “Break It Off” which spread like wildfire, appearing in over half a million videos. A third single titled “Pain” came out shortly after and reached Number 53 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. Laying sultry vocals on top of groovy samples, a genre she dubbed “new nostalgic,” PinkPantheress went on to release “Passion” and “Attracted to You,” both of which accumulated millions of plays on streaming services. Her first mixtape To Hell with It, saw the light on October 21, debuting at Number 20 on the UK Albums Chart and Number 73 on the Billboard 200. Showing no signs of slowing down, PinkPantheress collaborated with a range of artists throughout 2022, including Sam Gellaitry, Skrillex, and Trippie Redd with extended play, Take Me Home, appearing in December 2022, featuring the singles "Boy's a Liar" and "Do You Miss Me," dropping remix "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2," (feat. Ice Spice) in February 2023 which climbed to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 in the UK. With her popularity soaring, "Angel," (from Greta Gerwig-directed 2023 film Barbie) followed as a standalone single in June, with debut album Heaven Knows, officially released on November 10, 2023, preceded by popular singles such as "Mosquito" and "Capable of Love."
