Peter Zummo, born in 1948 from Cleveland, Ohio, is an American trombonist and composer. He earned degrees in music and composition at Wesleyan University and continued his studies in New York City. Zummo's compositions spanned genres including rock, jazz, electronic music, disco, punk, and world music, and have been presented internationally. Zummoâs career also incuded notable collaborations with Arthur Russell, contributing to several of Russell's recordings. His 1985 composition Lateral Pass, created for choreographer Trisha Brown, was released by Foom Music in 2014. He has also worked with Mikhail Barishnikovâs Baryshnikov Arts Center and contributed to films such as Tramas and Second Spring.
