Pearl Charles

Pearl Charles (born 11 May 1991 in Los Angeles, California) is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose pop-rock music is a dreamy fusion of 1960s rock, 1970s cosmic country, soft-rock, disco, and Americana. With a BFA in Music from CalArts, her artistic foundation is built on formal training and a lifelong immersion in diverse musical styles. She began playing music at just five years old, steeped in the Laurel Canyon and Joshua Tree cultures via her filmmaker father and visual artist mother. At 18, she co-founded the country duo The Driftwood Singers (playing autoharp and singing), and at 22, was drummer for garage-rock outfit The Blank Tapes. In 2015, she released her self-titled EP on Burger Records, introducing her melodic blend of cosmic Americana and indie-pop. Her first full-length, Sleepless Dreamer, arrived in 2018, before she explored country-disco and psych-pop on 2021's Magic Mirror. Her third album, Desert Queen, emerged in 2025.
