Dyérys de Paula Mattos, better known as Paula Mattos, was born on October 16, 1988, in Campo Grande, Mato Grande do Sul, Brazil. She began songwriting at age 12 and performing in local bars at 15. In 2015 she released her debut EP Acústico, featuring collaborations with Thaeme & Thiago and other regional acts, which launched her into national attention. She moved into a more collaboration-driven phase with the EP Copo e Alma (2019), which included “Boa Sorte” featuring Dilsinho, and the album Livre (2019), while also keeping a parallel reputation as a writer—credited on songs recorded by other major names in the scene, including Matheus & Kauan and the Marília Mendonça / Maiara & Maraisa circle. In the 2020s, she continued releasing new material with standalone singles in 2022 and then a concept-style return in 2024 with the Elementos releases, including Elementos: FOGO and Elementos: TERRA (Ao Vivo), keeping her catalog centered on modern sertanejo heartbreak and radio-ready refrains. 2025 saw the release of the live EP Estrada Session, followed by the single "Estrada Session, Pt. 2" a few months later.
