Pailhead

Pailhead was an American industrial ensemble formed in 1987. The group was a collaboration between Al Jourgensen of the band Ministry and Ian MacKaye, who had previously performed with Minor Threat. The members established the project after meeting in London. The lineup included Paul Barker, Bill Rieflin, and Eric Spicer. The ensemble’s musical style combined elements of industrial rock and hardcore punk. The group released the single “I Will Refuse” / “No Bunny” in 1987 through Wax Trax! Records. In 1988, the band released the four-track EP Trait, which featured the recordings “Man Should Surrender” and “Don't Stand in Line”. The ensemble never performed a live concert. Its music appeared in skateboard videos and the television program Cold Case. The track “I Will Refuse” was covered by the group Soulfly. The ensemble became inactive in 1988.
