Irish band ØXN stands out in the folk music world for its intensive use of electronics and its avant-garde edge. Formed in Dublin in 2013, it was then made up of the duo formed by Lankum band member Radie Peat (vocals, bayan, keyboards, guitar) and Katie Kim (vocals, keyboards, sampling), born Katie Ann Sullivan and already known for her solo activity and with the band Daë Kim. They are joined by John Murphy (Percolator member, vocals, synthesizers, bass) and Ellie Myler (vocals, percussion). Their fusion of traditional folk and dark, experimental electro is sure to draw an Internet audience to a memorable performance from Dublin's Martello Tower, during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. ØXN then set about recording the Love Henry EP (2023), quickly followed by the critically acclaimed album CYRM, which received the ultimate 5/5 rating from The Guardian. This first opus, recorded in five days and released by Claddagh Records, also won over the public, reaching number 40 in the UK folk charts.
