Oren Ambarchi

Oren Ambarchi, born in 1969 in Sydney, Australia, is a guitarist and percussionist known for his work in electronic music. He began performing live in 1986, initially playing free jazz as a drummer before transitioning to guitar. Ambarchi's early career included collaborations with Robbie Avenaim, co-organizing the 'What Is Music' Festival from 1994-2005. His discography includes notable releases such as Intermission 2000-2008 (EP - 2010), Oystered (EP - 2010), and albums like In the Mouth a Hand (2012) and Behold (2015). Ambarchi has also contributed to projects with Sunn O))) and collaborated extensively with Jim O'Rourke, releasing albums such as Indeed (2011), Behold (2015), and Hence (2018). He runs the record label Black Truffle, which has released several of his solo works. Recent work from Ambarchi's extensive catalog have included noteable releases, Shebang (2022), Ghosted (2022), Ghosted II (2024), and Ghosted III (2025), all released by Drag City.
