The Olsen Brothers, comprising Jørgen Olsen and Niels "Noller" Olsen, are a Danish pop-rock duo from Denmark. They formed their first group, The Kids, in 1965 and gained early exposure by opening for The Kinks at K.B. Hallen the same year. Their debut single was released in 1967. Jørgen Olsen and Niels Olsen participated in the comedy musical Hair at Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen in March 1971, followed by a tour across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Their first album, Olsen, was released in 1972. Throughout their career, they recorded numerous albums, including For What We Are (1973), For the Children of the World (1973), Back on the Tracks (1976), and You're the One (1977). Notable songs from this period include "Angelina" (1972), "Julie" (1977), and "San Francisco" (1978). In 2000, they won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with "Fly on the Wings of Love", representing Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm and achieving significant success with this song. The Olsen Brothers also opened the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen in 2001 and took part in the Danish preselections again in 2005. They went on to release albums such as Walk Right Back (2001), Weil Nur Die Liebe Zählt (2003), Respect (2007), and Brothers to Brothers (2013). In 2019, the group went on hiatus after Niels Olsen was diagnosed with brain cancer. He later received a cancer-free diagnosis in 2020. Five years later, Jørgen Olsen performed "Fly on the Wings of Love" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel as an interval act, marking 25 years since their initial victory.
