Ogie Alcasid

Ogie Alcasid is a Filipino actor, singer, and songwriter born as Herminio Jose Lualhati Alcasid Jr. on August 27 1967 in Taal. Alcasid achieved professional recognition for a musical career that began in 1988 as a member of the ensemble Kundirana. His recording career began with the song “Peksman” (1988) and the debut studio recording Ogie Alcasid (1989) which achieved gold record status. He achieved professional recognition for the song “Nandito Ako” which was named Song of the Year by Magic 89.9. His discography included the studio recording A Step Ahead (1991) and the studio recording On Air (1993) which reached double platinum status. Alcasid achieved professional recognition for the studio recording The Songbird and the Songwriter (2004) and the studio recording Nakakalokal (2017). He achieved professional recognition for the song “Sa Kanya”, the song “Ikaw Sana”, and collaborating with the musician Regine Velasquez on the song “Hanggang Ngayon”. He achieved professional recognition for receiving twelve gold, three platinum, and three double platinum certifications for his recordings. Alcasid achieved professional recognition for performing in the television program Tropang Trumpo (1994-1995) and the television program Bubble Gang (1995-2013). He achieved professional recognition for hosting the television program SOP (1997-2010) and the television program ASAP since 2017. Alcasid achieved professional recognition for receiving the FAMAS Golden Artist Award in 2008 and the Aliw Award for Entertainer of the Year in 2008. He achieved professional recognition for being named Male Concert Performer of the Year in 2011, 2018, and 2019.
