Nollaig Casey

Nollaig Casey, born in Ireland, is a traditional Irish musician known for her fiddle skills. By age eleven, she played multiple instruments including the violin, piano, tin whistle, and uilleann pipes. She won several national titles in fiddle and traditional singing and was named Musician of the Year in 1972. Casey joined Planxty in 1980 and toured Europe with them. She collaborated extensively with various artists and groups, including Moving Hearts, Liam O'Flynn, Frances Black, The Clancy Brothers, L'Héritage des Celtes, and Elvis Costello. Casey also performed in the theatrical production Riverdance. She has released several albums, including Lead the Knave (1989) and Causeway (1995).
