Neave Trio

Formed in 2010, the Neave Trio comprises Anna Williams (violin), Mikhail Veselov (cello) and Eri Nakamura (piano). The chamber music ensemble performs at prestigious festivals from the USA to Europe and Russia, and has established residencies at several North American universities. Its wide-ranging repertoire includes scores by established composers such as Brahms, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Ravel and Fauré, as well as lesser-known names in chamber music such as Astor Piazzolla and women composers in the process of being rediscovered, as evidenced by the recitals for the Chandos label, Her Voice (2019) and A Room of Her Own (2024), featuring pieces by Louise Farrenc, Amy Beach, Rebecca Clarke, Lili Boulanger, Cécile Chaminade, Germaine Tailleferre and Ethel Smyth. In 2024, the Rooted recital focuses on works by Smetana, Suk, Martin and Coleridge-Taylor. After a first volume devoted to French composers, French Moments (2018), the Neave Trio extends its exploration with La Mer: French Piano Trios (2025), featuring Debussy's La Mer (L. 108) based on the three symphonic sketches arranged by Sally Beamish, Saint-Saëns' Piano Trio No. 2 and two pieces by Mel Bonis.
