Naked Eyes

Naked Eyes, a British new wave duo, were formed in England in 1982. The group consisted of Pete Byrne on vocals and Rob Fisher on keyboards. Both musicians had previously been members of Neon, another new wave band that included future Tears for Fears members Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Naked Eyes rose to prominence with their debut single "Always Something There to Remind Me", a synth-pop cover of the Burt Bacharach/Hal David standard, released in 1982. Their self-titled debut album Burning Bridges was produced by Tony Mansfield and released in August 1983. The follow-up album Fuel for the Fire, released in August 1984, also featured productions by Arthur Baker. Subsequent hits included "Promises, Promises" and "When the Lights Go Out". Despite achieving commercial success, Naked Eyes never toured in their original iteration, as replicating their studio sound in concert proved technically challenging. Rob Fisher passed away on 25 August 1999, at the age of 42, following surgery for bowel cancer. In 2005, Pete Byrne revived Naked Eyes as a live act and has been touring regularly since. The band released Fumbling with the Covers, an acoustic album featuring covers of various artists along with their hits, in June 2007. Another album recorded for the new project, Disguise the Limit, was released in June 2021.
