Morten Qvenild

Morten Qvenild, born on August 31, 1978, in Kongsberg, Norway, is a jazz pianist known for his versatility. He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo and began his career around the turn of the millennium with bands like Østenfor Sol and Shining. From 2000 to 2002, he was part of Jaga Jazzist. Qvenild then focused on Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, playing various keyboard instruments and electronic devices. He has also been a member of the Slow Motion Quintet since 2000, accompanying singer Solveig Slettahjell. In 2003, he formed the trio In the Country with Roger Arntzen on bass and Pål Hausken on drums, releasing several albums, including This Was the Pace of My Heartbeat (2005) and Whiteout (2009).
