MONOEYES, a Japanese rock band, was formed in 2015. The band consists of TAKESHI HOSOMI on vocals and guitar, SCOTT MURPHY on bass and chorus, MASAFUMI TODAKA on guitar, and MASAKAZU ICHISE on drums. MONOEYES was founded by TAKESHI HOSOMI, who is also known for his work with ELLEGARDEN and the HIATUS. The band's name is derived from the "Monoeye" feature of mobile suits in the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam, reflecting HOSOMI's interest in the franchise. The band released their debut EP "My Instant Song" on June 24, 2015, followed by their first album A Mirage In The Sun on July 29, 2015. Their subsequent releases include Get Up (2016), Dim the Lights (2017), and Between the Black and Gray (2020). MONOEYES has also released several EPs, including Interstate 46 in 2019. The band's music is characterized by HOSOMI's songwriting and composition, with contributions from other members on later albums. MONOEYES embarked on extensive tours to support their releases, including the "A Mirage In The Sun Tour 2015," "Get Up Tour 2016," and "Dim The Lights Tour 2017." They have also participated in notable festivals such as ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL and SUMMER SONIC. In 2020, they held a semi-acoustic tour and a live streaming event at the Nippon Budokan. Their 4th EP, The Unforgettables, was released on September 4, 2024, and their 4th album, Running Through the Fire, on September 3, 2025.
