Monica Ramos, born in Chile and later based in Sweden, is a harpist who graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. She began her career performing with notable orchestras such as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Sweden, and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Her debut album, Wind from the Sea, released in 1993, blended symphonic harp with modern ambient rhythms. In 1997, she followed up with Moai, which sold over 250,000 copies and featured collaborations with her brother, classical guitarist Alvaro Covarrubias, on tracks like "Eternidad (The eternity)". Her third album, Behind That Light (2001), included compositions and lyrics predominantly written by Ramos herself.
