Mojave 3

Mojave 3 was formed in the United Kingdom by former Slowdive members Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar), Rachel Goswell (vocals, bass) and Ian McCutcheon (drums), joined later by keyboardist Alan Forrester and former Chapterhouse guitarist Simon Rowe; the trio initially operated under the name Mojave before adding “3” to avoid confusion. The group released early singles including “Some Kinda Angel”, followed by Ask Me Tomorrow in 1995 and Out of Tune in 1998, which introduced their blend of dream pop and country-rock to 4AD’s roster. Subsequent releases included Excuses for Travellers in 2000, the singles “In Love With a View” and “Any Day Will Be Fine” the same year, Spoon and Rafter in 2003, and Puzzles Like You in 2006. The band toured in support of these releases and remained active into the mid-2000s before members shifted focus to other projects, with activity ceasing around the period when Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell later re-formed Slowdive.
