Miranda Leigh Lambert was born on November 10, 1983, in Longview, Texas, and raised in Lindale, where her parents worked as private investigators and her father also performed country music. After singing in local talent contests and fronting the Texas Pride Band, she independently released the album Miranda Lambert in 2001. She placed third on the television competition Nashville Star in 2003 and subsequently signed with Epic Nashville. Her major-label debut, Kerosene, arrived in 2005, topped Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, reached number 18 on the Billboard 200, and produced “Me and Charlie Talking” and the title track. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend followed in 2007, while Revolution reached number one on the country chart in 2009. Its single “The House That Built Me” became Miranda Lambert’s first Number 1 country hit and earned her first Grammy Award in 2011. That year, she formed Pistol Annies with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, issued the trio’s debut album Hell on Heels, and released her fourth solo album, Four the Record. Miranda Lambert continued her commercial run with Platinum in 2014, her first Billboard 200 chart-topper, and The Weight of These Wings in 2016. Singles including “Over You” and the Carrie Underwood collaboration “Somethin’ Bad” further expanded her string of country hits. Her seventh solo album, Wildcard, appeared in 2019 and later won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album. Miranda Lambert recorded the stripped-down collaborative album The Marfa Tapes with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall in 2021, followed by Palomino in 2022, which reached the Billboard 200 Top 10 and featured the B-52’s on “Music City Queen.” She collaborated with Leon Bridges on “If You Were Mine” in 2023. After completing her 48-show Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency, Miranda Lambert signed with Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud in 2024. She contributed “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore” to Twisters: The Album and released Postcards from Texas, featuring “Wranglers” and “Alimony.” The record became her tenth consecutive Top 10 entry on the Top Country Albums chart and later received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Country Album. In 2025, Miranda Lambert marked the twentieth anniversary of Kerosene with an expanded edition, joined Reba McEntire and Lainey Wilson on “Trailblazer,” and recorded “A Song to Sing” with Chris Stapleton; both collaborations received Grammy nominations. After beginning a new label partnership with MCA in 2026, she released “Crisco,” “Till the Going’s Gone,” and “Sunset Marquis.” Her country-and-disco-influenced album Crisco was released on October 2, 2026.
