Michigan & Smiley is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall duo consisting of Papa Michigan (Anthony Fairclough) and General Smiley (Erroll Bennett). They gained prominence during the late 1970s dancehall music wave. They started their career at Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One, releasing their debut single "Rub a Dub Style" (1980), which became a Number 1 hit. Their subsequent single "Nice Up the Dance" further established them in the genre. They recorded their biggest hit "Diseases" with Henry "Junjo" Lawes, featured on their second LP Downpression (1982). The duo performed at festivals, and both members released solo recordings.
