Meli'sa Morgan

Joyce Melissa Morgan, known professionally as Meli'sa Morgan, was born on December 6, 1964, in Queens, New York. She began her musical journey singing with a church gospel choir and cited Chaka Khan as a major influence. Her initial chart entry came as the lead singer of the dance group Shades of Love, which reached number 26 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1982 with "Body to Body (Keep in Touch)". In 1983, Morgan joined High Fashion, a studio group created by music entrepreneur Jacques Fred Petrus. Morgan's solo career took off with her debut album Do Me Baby, which included a cover of Prince's "Do Me, Baby" that topped the R&B chart for three weeks and peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986. She followed this success with several notable singles, including "Do You Still Love Me", which reached the top five on the R&B chart. Morgan continued to release albums throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, including Good Love (1987), and Still In Love With You (1992). Her single "Still in Love with You" hit number 3 on the US dance chart in 1992. After a lengthy hiatus, Morgan released her fifth solo album, I Remember, in November 8, 2005.
