Melinda Doolittle

Melinda Marie Doolittle, born on October 6, 1977 in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American singer who gained prominence as a professional backup vocalist for various artists before her appearance on American Idol. Her career began in earnest when she started singing professionally in 1999 after studying music at Belmont University. Doolittle's breakthrough moment came during the sixth season of American Idol, where she finished third. Following her stint on Idol, Doolittle released her debut EP Melinda Doolittle in 2007, followed by her first full-length album Coming Back to You in February 2009. She has also released notable singles including "It's Your Love" and "God Bless Us Everyone."
