Meiko

Melissa McAllister Sheppard, known professionally as Meiko, was born in Roberta, Georgia, and is a singer-songwriter. Raised by her father, she began performing at age eight and developed an early interest in songwriting. At eighteen, Meiko moved to Los Angeles and performed at venues like Hollywood's Hotel Café. In 2007, she released her self-titled debut album independently, which featured tracks used in major network TV shows. She toured nationally with Brett Dennen and Mat Kearney before signing with MySpace Records/DGC in June 2008. Her second full-length album, The Bright Side, was released through Fantasy Records in 2012, featuring the single "Stuck on You", which reached Number 1 on both the combined Japanese AirPlay Chart and the International Chart in Japan.
