Megavier

Megavier is a crossover band project from Germany that emerged in 1994 from the collaboration between the Stuttgart hip-hop group Die Fantastischen Vier and the Frankfurt metal and crossover band Megalomaniax. The band combines metal, hardcore and hip-hop with German lyrics and is considered an early example of rap-metal from the German-speaking world. The members of Megavier are Thomas Dürr, Michael Beck, Andreas Rieke and Michael Schmidt from Die Fantastischen Vier as well as Andi Wilda, Kader Kesek, Axel Trapp, Gunnar Kalb, Gunnar Pelshenke and Kayhan from Megalomaniax. The project became known through the album Megavier, which was released in September 1994. It contains tracks such as "Enough is enough", "Tag am toten Meer" and "Gute Unterhaltung". The album sells around 80,000 copies, but does not reach any positions in the official German charts. Around 20 concerts follow, making the project known in German-speaking countries. After the end of the tour, the band breaks up again in November 1994.
