Megan Hilty

Megan Kathleen Hilty, born on March 29, 1981, in Bellevue, Washington, is an American musical theatre actress and singer. She began taking vocal lessons at age 12 and attended the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, graduating in 2004. Her breakthrough came with her role as Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked, making her Broadway debut in August 2004. Hilty took over the lead role from May 31, 2005, to May 28, 2006, and later reprised it on the national tour and Los Angeles production. She also starred as Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5: The Musical (2009), for which she received multiple award nominations. Hilty's television roles include Ivy Lynn in the musical-drama series Smash, where she sang the Grammy Award-nominated "Let Me Be Your Star", and Liz on the sitcom Sean Saves the World. In 2013, she released her debut solo album, It Happens All the Time.
