MC Magic

Marco “MC Magic” Cardenas, born on June 29, 1977, in Heroica Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, began his music career in 1990 when he founded Nastyboy Records and formed the bilingual hip-hop group Nastyboy Klick. The group released The First Chapter in 1997 and Tha Second Coming in 1998, establishing a unique mix of English and Spanish lyrics with romantic themes. After evolving into NB Ridaz, the group released Invasion in 2001 and NB Ridaz.com in 2004, gaining attention with tracks like “Pretty Girl” and “So Fly.” While still active with the group, MC Magic also released his solo debut Don’t Worry in 1995, but it was his 2006 album Magic City that marked a breakthrough in his solo career, featuring tracks like “All My Life” and “Sexy Lady,” and climbing to the top of the Billboard Heatseekers chart. In 2008, he followed with Magic City Part 2, which included collaborations with Baby Bash, Too $hort, and DJ Kane. His next solo album The Rewire arrived in 2011, led by the singles “Mrs. Delicious” and “Diggin.” In 2014, he dropped Million Dollar Mexican, continuing to focus on love themes and Mexican-American pride. Almost a decade later, he returned with God bless Chicanos in August 2024, a project that reinforces his roots and bilingual identity.
