MC Anjim

Lucas Yann Batista, better known as MC Anjim, is a Brazilian funk artist from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, linked to the city’s funk mineiro scene and known for a dragged, laid-back flow and instantly recognizable delivery. Raised in the Boa Vista neighborhood, he originally dreamed of becoming a professional skateboarder, but in 2015 he began working near the Morro das Pedras community, met local DJs, and was pulled into the baile circuit. His first major wave arrived in 2019, when he helped turn “Desce Com a Perseguida” (with Mc Laranjinha and MC Vitin LC, featuring Mc Faelzin and DJs like DJ PH da Serra and DJ Lv Mdp) into one of the scene’s defining call-and-response records; that same year he stayed active with “Água Rosa,” reinforcing his chemistry with the Belo Horizonte DJ network. In the early 2020s, he kept building through singles and set-style releases, then landed a broader hit with “Bala Love” (2021), a track that became one of his main reference points and pushed his name beyond the local circuit. By 2024, he was still expanding his sound through new releases like Funkstar (2024), while maintaining the same baile-first identity rooted in percussion-heavy grooves, melodic hooks, and streetwise humor. In 2025, he popped up in international-facing contexts with “Mc Anjim On The Radar Freestyle.”
