Maze

Maze, also known as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and Frankie Beverly and Maze, is a funk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group is the brainchild of singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Frankie Beverly, who, from 1976 onwards, blended Philly soul with the then-dominant disco funk. Established in San Francisco (California) and aided by Marvin Gaye, Maze went from hit to hit and tour to tour with a show dripping with groove. Since his debut album Maze featuring Frankie Beverly in 1977, Maze has gone gold and topped the Billboard R&B charts. Inspiration(1979), Joy and Pain (1980) and Silky Soul(1989) are her most memorable recordings. An overview of her top fifteen hits has been available since 2004 on the Greatest Hits compilation. Still active today, Maze devotes most of her time to touring, having not recorded since 1993's Back to Basics.
