Maya Cumming, known professionally as MAY-A, is an Australian singer-songwriter born on August 24, 2001, in Sydney. She began her musical journey by posting videos on YouTube under the username Heyit'smaya and performing street busking around Byron Bay from ages 11 to 14. MAY-A released her debut single "Fools Paradise" in September 2019, followed by "All Girls Aren't the Same" and "Green" in May 2020. She signed with Sony Music Australia in August 2020 and released her debut EP Don’t Kiss Ur Friends on August 6, 2021, which debuted at Number 31 on the ARIA Charts. In February 2022, MAY-A collaborated with Flume on the single "Say Nothing", topping Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2022 and featured in the Netflix show Heartbreak High. Her subsequent releases include the EP ifyoulikeitlikethat (August 18, 2023) and the album ANALYSIS PARALYSIS (September 1, 2023). In 2026, she returned with the album Goodbye (If You Call That Gone).
