Maxi Alvarez

Maxi Alvarez is a Uruguayan plena singer from Barros Blancos, Canelones, who emerged through short, hook-forward singles built for the local party circuit and Uruguay’s new wave of plena-pop. By late 2025 he was issuing tracks with ONE PLAY, including “Lo Siento” (2025) and “Soleao” (2025), framing his sound around tight percussion, chant-like choruses, and street-level slang rather than salsa phrasing. In 2026 he pushed that approach further with “Una Bala” (2026), a collaboration with ONE PLAY that quickly became one of his most streamed tracks, turning up prominently on Uruguay’s YouTube daily chart and consolidating his profile as a new-school plena voice working at the intersection of urban rhythms and dancefloor pop.
