Max Ruisi

A British cellist based in London, Max Ruisi co-founded 12 Ensemble in 2012 with his brother Alessandro Ruisi, a string quartet specializing in the interpretation of modern and contemporary works. A member of the London Contemporary Orchestra, he also collaborates with the Orchestrate ensemble and founds the Ruisi Quartet, in which his violinist brother also participates. At the same time, he collaborates on recording sessions for artists including Mica Levi, SBTRKT, Radiohead, Bring Me the Horizon, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Taylor Swift, Jonny Greenwood, The Smile, Robbie Williams, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, The National, Sigur Ros, Squid and Max Richter. For the latter, he contributed to the albums In a Landscape (2024) and Sleep Circle (2025).
