Master Blaster, a German dance music group, was founded in 2002 by Rico Alfonso Bernasconi, Mike de Ville, and Sascha van Holt. The trio's breakthrough came with their debut single "Hypnotic Tango", a cover of My Mine's Italo-Disco hit, which reached the Top 10 of the German Singlecharts in 2002 and earned them an Echo nomination. In 2003, they released their first album We Love Italo Disco, along with the singles "How Old R U?" and "Ballet Dancer", the latter produced with Turbo B., known for his work with SNAP!. The following year saw the release of the single "Another Life" and the EP Dial My Number / Hands Up. In 2006, Master Blaster released a cover of Russ Ballard's rock classic "Since You’ve Been Gone", which marked a departure from their typical sound. Their second studio album, Put Your Hands Up, was released in 2007, featuring the single "Walking In Memphis/Can Delight" which topped the Club Rotation Dance-Charts for several weeks. The group continued to release albums and singles throughout the 2000s and 2010s, including collaborations with Paul Janke and Daniel Norda. In 2017, Sascha van Holt left the project, and Mike de Ville continued producing under the Master Blaster name.
