Marian Call

Marian Call (born February 24, 1982) is an American contemporary folk and nerd-folk singer-songwriter from Gig Harbor, Washington. After graduating from Stanford University in 2004, Call relocated to Juneau, Alaska, and released her debut album, Vanilla, in 2007. Following fan discovery on MySpace, Call began touring in 2008. Her discography includes the geek culture-themed album Got to Fly (2008), commissioned by Quantum Mechanix, and the project Something Fierce (2011). In 2010, Call completed the 49>50 Tour, performing in all 50 U.S. states, and later conducted the European Adventure Quest!!! (2012). Her instrumentation often includes a typewriter for percussion and a rainstick. Call’s subsequent studio recordings include the albums Standing Stones (2017) and Swears (2020). In 2017, her song “Stop What You’re Doing” was used for the television series Chance.
