Marcus King

Marcus King, son of southern blues artist Marvin King, is an American singer-songwriter from South Carolina who leads the Marcus King Band performing a mix of blues, soul and rock. Formed in 2013, the line-up features bassist Stephen Campbell, keyboard player Dane Farnsworth, trumpet and trombone player Justin Johnson, saxophonist Dean Mitchell and drummer Jack Ryan. Their debut release, 'Soul Insight' (2015), went to number eight on Billboard's Blues Albums Chart. 'The Marcus King Band' (2016) hit number two on the Blues Albums Chart and number 12 on Billboard's Tastemakers Chart. The EP 'Due North' (2017) reached number two on the Blues Albums Chart. 'Carolina Confessions' (2018) peaked at number two on the Blues Albums Chart and on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart and went to number 58 on the Top Album Sales Chart. In 2020, they released an EP titled 'Beautiful Stranger' and an album titled 'El Dorado'. Their 2020 schedule was to include appearances at venues in Glasgow, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Bristol in the United Kingdom with dates set across America.
