Marcellius Kirana Hamonangan Siahaan, known professionally as Marcell Siahaan, was born on September 21, 1977, in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. He is a singer and actor with roots in the Batak, Javanese, and Ambon regions of Indonesia. His breakthrough came when he accompanied Shanty in performing "Just Praise", which marked his entry into the music industry. Marcell Siahaan released his debut album Marcell in 2003, followed by Denganmu in 2006 and Hidup in 2008. He won the Best New Male Artist award at the AMI Awards, the 6th AMI-Sharp Awards for Best Recorded Song with "Hanya Memuji", and the Best Male Performance at Anugerah Planet Muzik.
