Mantra of the Cosmos

Mantra of the Cosmos is a psychedelic alternative rock supergroup made up of former Happy Mondays and Black Grape members Shaun Ryder (vocals) and Bez (percussion), plus Ringo Starr's son, Zak Starkey (drums), and guitarist Andy Bell, a member of Ride and Oasis. The idea came from the drummer, who had considered teaming up with Karl Bartos of Kraftwerk, but the latter declined the offer. Two years later, he considered Shaun Ryder, ready to embark on a new adventure with his mate Bez, before involving Andy Bell in the project. In the studio, the spirit of Madchester is invoked to produce the psychedelic-scented debut single "Gorilla Guerrilla", released in June 2023 and followed in August by "X (Wot You Sayin')". Two years later, the band invited Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds for "Domino Bones (Parts 1 & 2)", which penetrated the UK charts, reaching #15 in vinyl sales and #19 in singles.
