Mamas Gun

Mamas Gun, a London‑based soul‑pop band formed in 2008, emerged from an ad on Myspace.com that brought together lead singer, composer and producer Andy “AP” Platts; bassist Rex “Professor” Horan; keyboardist Dave “Eighties” Oliver; drummer Jack “Union” Pollitt; and later Terry “Spiller” Lewis, whose experience spanned Leon Ware and the Impressions. Their first single, "Pots of Gold", was released in August 2008 on Candelion Records and entered BBC Radio 2 playlists, setting the stage for their debut album Routes to Riches in October 2009, which reached number 3 on the Japanese Billboard charts and saw the single "House on a Hill" climb to number 2 on Japan’s Hot 100. In 2011 they released The Life and Soul, produced by Martin Terefe, featuring the singles "On a String", "Reconnection", and "Only One". The 2014 album Cheap Hotel peaked at number 29 on the Independent UK album chart and delivered "Red Cassette". A self‑produced turning point arrived with Golden Days in 2018, mastered by Pierre and Shawn Lee, and yielding tracks such as "London Girls" and "I Need a Win". Subsequent releases include Cure the Jones (2022) and DIG! (2026).
