Active since 2010, British metalcore band Malevolence hail from Sheffield. Their blend of metalcore, hardcore beatdown and sludge metal with southern metal influences has made a name for itself in the UK, before conquering the international market. Consisting of singer Alex Taylor and Josh Bainet and Konan Hall (guitars), Wilkie Robinson (bass) and Charlie Thorpe, the band made a name for itself with the album Reign of Suffering (2013), released on the SOAR label (Siege of Amida Records), distributed by Century Media, which was well received by specialist critics. In 2017, Self Supremacy was released on the German label Beatdown Hardwear and won over a wider audience, who were delighted by this combination of melodies and aggressive riffs, backed by a powerful rhythm section. The Other Side EP, released in 2020, marks a new stage with the creation of the band's own MLVLTD label, distributed by Nuclear Blast. Having become one of the biggest names in metalcore, Malevolence followed this up with the well-produced Malicious Intent (2022), featuring collaborations with Matt Honeycutt of Kublai Khan TX and Matt Heafy of Trivium. The band, renowned for its energetic live performances, has been a headliner ever since, a position reinforced by the release of their fourth album, Where Only the Truth Is Spoken (2025).
